for everyone

Imagine

by John Lennon

Imagine there's no heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today...

Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace...

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one

Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world...

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
If we all could simply imagine a world where there is no judgment or hurt or pain created by man to decieve the heart and mind of truly understanding what love is all about, wouldn't it be a much better place to live...
Live, Love and Laugh always...
but pain defines existence, a world filled with love and happiness is not reality without pain and sorrow.
So true, but I guess I wish for a utopian attitude, perfection is never attained I know but yet I wish the world would find a way to be more kind to one another...We are created and born out of pain I know but do we have to live always seeking it...I hope not I truly wouldnt want a life merely from pain and sorrow. There is to much joy to be experienced for that.
maybe because perfection does not exist? and maybe we'll never know the purpose of our own existence, but im sure i want a paradise too...
I agree it does seem as though perfection doesnt exist, but I guess since I am a dreamer I believe we sure can get really close to finding out if there is such a happiness to be found...Maybe that starts with self and then arrives when others see it in us...~Just a thought~
This is very interesting.....John Lennon and the rest of the group "The Beatles" were also followers of the magickal teachings of Aleister Crowley.......known as "The Most Wickedest Man". Aleister Crowley is also on one of their album covers along with other famed people and celebrities, the album being named "Sgt. Pepper. Them being Satanist, and practicing the darkness of the craft.
Here's some of the lyrics from John Lennon's blasphemous song, Serve Yourself...
You say you found Jesus Christ
He’s the only one
You say you found Buddha
Sitting in the sun
You say you found Mohammed
Facing to the east
You say you found Krishna
Dancing in the seats
Ain't nobody gonna do it for you
Well you may believe in devils
and you may believe in lords
But Christ, you're gonna have to serve yourself and that's all there is to it.
…You got to serve yourself
Ain't nobody gonna do it for you?
You gotta serve yourself
Nobody’s gonna do for you.
Serve Yourself—Lennon Anthology
And i'm just a History buff and had thought some history in the background of Lennon and his works would be appropriate for this post. Even though I personally find the lyrics to this song extremely beautiful and the idea of us all living in peace a very wonderful thing to think of and hope for. I always love your poems and post Dawn!
